Sleep Tight All Night Igglepiggle is a versatile sleep aid designed to help teach children when to sleep and when it’s time to get up. It features a small unit that is placed inside the Igglepiggle toy that can be set to shine green or red.
Investigations have concluded that green wave lengths are beneficial during day light hours because they boost attention and reaction times. But green light has been shown to be bad at night as it reduces that amount of melatonin the body produces and the ability to fall asleep.
Red light is less disruptive to the natural body clock and the production of melatonin.
On the reverse side of the sleep aid are all the controls needed to set-up the sleep cycle and daytime play modes.
Timer: the timer is used to set the duration you would, ideally, like you child to sleep; all night or perhaps for just a quick nap.
Sounds: use the ‘Sounds’ button to select which of the five soothing sounds will be heard during the sleep cycle. These range from ‘falling rain drops’, ‘sea surf’, ‘gentle heartbeat’ ‘waterfall’ and ‘crickets’ as well as a no-sound option. The volume can be adjusted.
Parental Lock: once set the unit can be switched ‘on’ which prevents curious little fingers from interfering with the setting.
The unit is then placed into Igglepiggle’s pouch and closed with the velcro fastening.
When Igglepiggle’s tummy is squeezed the sleep aid responds by glowing red and the soothing sounds will be heard for 20 minutes. After 15 minutes the sounds get quieter and the light dims. Whilst the child sleeps the sleep aid remains active and will turn the light and sound back on for a further 5 minutes if the child is disturbed and squeezes Igglepiggle’s tummy again assisting your child to get back to sleep.
Throughout the sleep cycle the child should be encouraged that when ‘RED – stay in bed’.
When the sleep cycle set on the timer is complete a tummy press will make the sleep aid shine green. Encouraging your child ‘GREEN – get up and go’.
Setting the sleep aid into ‘Day mode’ converts it into a daytime toy. Each tummy press then makes Igglepiggle say fun phrases and noises.

Sensory Light and Sound
When I first saw the Ion Party Starter video I was impressed and decided to buy one. After connecting it to my iPad I was amazed at how good it is It’s loud enough and the lights fill the room. It’s so good I took it along to our stand at Kidz-up-North. Lots of visitors wanted to buy one said it would be a fantastic addition to a young persons sensory space.
Perhaps in a full-sized sensory room you may want to consider its bigger brother the Ion Party Time.
This video gives an impression of what the Ion Party Starter is capable of and how to connect it to your iPad using Bluetooth.
Ion Party Starter – use it three ways
1: music only
2: pulsating lights only
3: music and pulsating lights combined
In ‘music only’ mode it sounds good and is sufficiently loud. In ‘lights only’ mode it projects a colour changing, pulsating light show onto walls and ceilings. The light show is bright and stimulating and many individuals will enjoy the effect.
Mode three is when the Ion Party Starter shows what is is really all about. Music and beat-synchronised lights creates a superb sensory effect and a definite ‘must-have’ addition to any young persons party space.
The Kaleidoscope Projector Lamp produces great light show for its size. It uses just three AA type batteries and we’ve had them running all day long without needing to change them. It’s is one of the sensory lights we will show at Kidz-up-North on November 20th. (remember contact us if you need free tickets to the event)
This short video will give you an idea of the effect it can create.
The Kaleidoscope Projector Lamp works best in a darkened room, den or play area as you would expect but even so young kids will love the swirling light effect. Let them play some tunes at the same time and you’ve created their own disco party.
